What People Are Saying About Joe's Crab Shack-Garden Grove

In Short – Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.

The best experince at joe's ever!!

From the moment I walked in the store I knew I was going to have a great time. They sat my friend and I down as soon as we walked in. We had three different people checking on us to make sure we were being helped (I'm guessing so they could help out their fellow waiter jsu in case they were busy). Linette had a great personality, very warming and inviting. I was really impressed with this crew. I've had bad experiences at other Joe's, but this one by far makes up for all of my othe pass experiences. I had to let the manager know how great of a job her team was doing so I asked to speak to her. Not knowing whether I was going to complain or not, she walks over with just as attentive and as pleasant as the rest of her crew. They really made my dinner.
A Little Loud

I wouldn't go here for a romantic or quiet meal. It's a good place for birthdays or for kids. There's a party atmosphere, and it can get obnoxious. The food is pretty good. The service was great. There was a wait for a table thirty minutes before closing time, so it appears to stay busy.
- Pros: Fun, Atmosphere
- Cons: Cheesy
Tons of Fun

This is a favorite spot when we head out to dinner with our kids 9 & 4 yrs old. Great kids menu that offers a variety of items....a MAJOR plus for us since our 9 yr old is a vegetarian and a finicky eater and will only eat certain foods. The food is good & filling; the atmosphere is tons of fun with energetic waiters/waitresses that dance every half hour or so. They even have a playground for the kids and a person that makes balloon hats. Definitely a family oriented restaurant that has something for everyone! No reservations accepted-be there by 5 and get seated immediately; anytime after 6...plan to wait a very long time.
- Pros: Reasonably priced, Kid/family friendly, Good food
- Cons: Bad parking, VERY crowded, drafty

The food took for ever to get to my table, but the food was fantastic. Very crowded so get there early. Parking is horrific. But it's all worth it for the good food.
- Pros: Yummy, Fun Atmosphere, Value
- Cons: , Crowded, Busy
