Great Service, awesome sushi, freshest fish - Highly recommended!!!!. We just love Kanpai Sushi. We've been there countless times and have not been disappointed. Ask around - all of our neighbors in Ladera love this place as well. Their fish is consistently fresh and their service is outstanding. The servers and chefs always remember us by our first names. We love the personal, "family-owned" feel of Kanpai... many members of the owners' family work there, and they all treat us like FAMILY... One of the best sushi bars in Orange County, and that's no joke! Don't listen to what the other reviewer had to say... that is her opinion and she is entitled to it. But, if you know what good sushi/sashimi is, do yourself a favor and try out Kanpai...

Ladera Ranch - Sushi with an attitude - the wrong one!. Wow - could there be a ruder bunch of people?

Here's what to expect:

First you're ignored at the door, then when someone does finally bother to talk to you, plan on feeling like a huge bother. If you ask for a menu while waiting for a clean table you will be told to get it yourself at the front of the restaurant.

When you go to get one you will be made to feel in the way and shown rudeness to a degree not expected for what you now realize is a dump.

As you look around you will see the place is dirty, the staff is slow and uncaring and the fish looks about as fresh as the stuff on sale at Ralph's - last week's sale that is.

While waiting for your table you'll read the limited menu and move twice as the wait staff reorganizes the tables for people who are not even there, although you are and not seated.

When you ask how long the wait will be you will be told curtly - i don't know, it could be anything. And that's when it will dawn on you to leave and never come back. Good choice!!

Excellence thick-cut sushi for your money!!!!. Friendly sushi bar with really good fresh sushi.

The sushi portion is very generous, thick-cut fish with little rice!!!

Small restaurant but can get really crowded.

The only drawback is that the sushi-bar is not too big and there were some stupid people who even eat other food(Chicken teriyaki) on the sushi bar or wasting time in their stupid chit-chats!!!

Wait!!! sushi bar are for people who eat sushi, not other non-sushi stuffs!!!

But when you get to sit down, it's sushi-heaven!!!

Ladera Location Great Local Place. Hostess always remembers us, Sushi Chef's willing to do special orders, close to home. We love this place.
