The Scene
With a wide selection of food and entertainment crammed into a couple of manufactured blocks, CityWalk is the destination of choice for folks who like the idea of having urban-esque neighborhoods reduced down to their essence. Redesigned and expanded in early 2000, the sensory-overloaded strip boasts scores of restaurants, shops and neon signs.
The Goods
Visitors can take part in rock-and-roll bowling at Jillian's, virtual NASCAR racing, an audience participation piano bar Howl at the Moon, the movie-themed Emaginator thrill ride, and dancing in a Latin nightclub, Rumba Room. For your shopping pleasure, Sparky's has the largest collection of Pez dispensers in the country, and Retro Rad has your vintage desires covered. Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood and Gladstone's are still here, among others in the original cast. Joining them are Buca di Beppo, the popular family-style trattoria, and Wasabi, a quirky disco sushi spot. The CityFood Court features quick menus from chains like Versailles and Tommy's.

My husband my friends and I went there to have a good time we waited in line for 20 mins. or so then when we got to the front a big black security guard didn't let my husband in because supposedly baggy Dockers pants. His pants were no baggier that any one else in that place. It was so embarrassing!!! I will never go back there again or recommended to anyone else I know!!!

OK, so this definitely an L.A. tourist trap, and if you don’t come with a car full of people, parking is atrocious at around $10 per car. However, all the flashing billboards and larger-than-life architecture make Citywalk feel like a little slice of Vegas in Valley, just without the gambling. Tapas bar Tu Tu Tango and Southwestern rodeo restaurant Saddle Ranch are my favorite places to dine. I love looking at the quirky objects inside the socks and magnet stores. Citywalk is a great place to bring out-of-towners for some entertainment or for Angelenos who are not too embarrassed to mix in with the tourists.
