Best Dive Bar in OC. I was a regular at this bar for several years until I moved away.

Honesty, its the not same without Ian the bartender, he made this bar what it is. But it's still a fantastic dive bar if you go on the right night.

Like another reviewer said, the "scary people" that seem to drive people away are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Just take the time to get to know them, you'll thank me for it,

best dive bar ever. i'm a chapman grad...lived down in orange for 4 years...and i loved the last year the best. the main reason was paul's. paul's is the best dive bar ever. the people were friendly, the drinks were strong and the location was perfect (aka, walking distance). I got to be one of the 'regulars' for about 10 months. it was somewhere people knew my name (not unlike cheers), and i got to befriend the 'scary people', who were truly the friendliest people ever. thursday nights were chapman nights, for those of you who want to meet 'pretty people', that's the best time to go...i'd say at least 200 chapman kids would be there, with at least 85% of them being good looking. anyway, Paul's is awesome. and I should probably get back there soon.

it's alot like the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars. now having call it the Mos Eisley Cantina... you would think i'd hate the place. you would be extremely wrong. In fact... Paul's is the best little dive bar in Orange County. so voted in the OC Weekly! this spot makes a drink for the true alcoholic! you rarely have to ask for a little extra in your cocktail. in fact you probably can't handle the heavy hand of this places bartending staff. the atmosphere is chill... from the 3 pool tables to the smoking patio. a downloading jukebox and a cast of regulars that make people watching an olympic sport! some of the regulars are scary to look at, but if you are afraid of how someone looks because they are old, ugly or just look dirty. Maybe you would be better suited going to Extremes down Chapman about a mile where all the "Hoods" hang out and you might just get shot or stabbed for even trying to play a country song on the jukebox. Paul's is the totally friendly for all comers and attitude should be checked at the door.

scary place. Yes the crowd is nasty there!!! Nasty looking! Hard to find a half way decent guy there. I was mostly turn off by this one chick that came in, big mouth, big butt, 80ish hair. She has pretty, but the way she acted made her ugly! I won't go back

scandalous girls.... ill get right to the point, the chicks that go here like to get down to business. graet place for one night stands. they also make stiff drinks..
