Happy Child, Happy Parents!!. My husband and I had to write a review in favor to this preschool. We have our daughter here since she was an infant and now she's 3 years old. We love this preschool!! It has a warm, cozy and family oriented feeling and that's exactly what we were looking for our daughter. We have other relatives that have their kids in this school too and they're also very happy. We appreciate the love and concern the staff has always showed my family. Thank you Pepper Tree!!

Lovely Preschool & Staff!!. I currently have my two children at this school and it makes me very sad to read some of the negative comments people have post. I have carefully inspect this school and many others in the area and feel confident and comfortable that my children spend most of the day at this facility. I m very happy with the staff, curriculum, hygiene and the quality of care my children receive.

Terrible ownership. Irma (the owner) is so cold as a person. She completely rubs me the wrong way about having my daughter there. It's almost as if she's giving us a hint that we're not paying her enough to deal with our child. She's constantly questioning about my daughter's eczema as if we aren't taking care of our baby at home. It's really offensive! She pushes us to bring Benadryl for our daughter to knock her out during the day - to make it easier for her, no doubt! I wanted to punch her in the face when she said that. We do NOT drug our children for our own benefit, who does she think she is?!?

The staff look miserable working there! Ms. Christine is a lovely woman who seems almost forced to smile everyday. Ms. Arlene is an angel who knows and understands my daughter's eczema problem and cares so well for her. I dont know the names of the other teachers but everytime I show up, they're always yelling at the kids and never a smile on their face when I greet them "hello" or "good morning". I don't blame them, if I had to work for Irma - I'd be miserable too! She's a cold hearted dictator who just wants money! I'm surprised this facility has lasted as long as it did, with all the violations it has.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. If you have a 2+ year old, there are better options out there for yoU! If you have an infant / toddler, you're better off paying a little more to enroll your baby in places like Kindercare - they take such great care of the babies.

Help! Please comment if you posted earlier reviews about this facility or share similar experiences. Urgent. A dear friend suggested this idea: please "comment" below if you wrote any of the prior reviews about La Palma Peppertree or if you had negative experience(s) with the child care service provided. This urgent request expires 09/14/08. Be truthful. Be fair. And please elaborate. The public records on this facility is very telling. But do you have personal thoughts, observations, and/or experiences about the daycare that you'd like parents/friends to know? If you ask before 09/14/08, I will explain why. Thank you for your attention.

Seems all well and pretty except for the care your kids may be getting. I saw the "signs" along the way: the childcare licensing evaluator/agent had nothing good to report about the daycare, the preschool teacher yakking away on her cell phone with her back turned to the kids running/playing in the room when I dropped off my girl, childcare being provided by aides and not teachers, Spanish being exchanged when the staff thought we shouldn't hear the subject, Maggie (infant room) always seeming to complain about her job, aides shifting locations when I entered the premises (to cover any short staffing), aides fearing to talk openly about their experiences there (esp. within earshot of the teachers), them cancelling the Christmas program without any notice to parents who left work early and drove distances for it, the gate to the building being locked before closing time and my child still inside, their number calling me as "Blocked ID" (why would they block the ID?), etc., etc. We should have heeded the warnings before it was too late...

For $175/infant and $135/preschooler, you could find better value for your money somewhere else. The owner manages it like a business, the business of making money not the business of giving quality childcare; for eight years and counting.

Don't forget to look into their file at the licensing agency and in their office. The owner will love it.
