High Cost And Inappropriate Charges

Had my GMC Suburban towed to Steed Alignment on 10/24/09; left note with car key regarding problem with the starter; called next day to explain that 2 mechanics were consulted and determined problem was indeed with the starter; Steed still charged for diagnostic time (wanted to charge for 1 full hour) & ended up charging for 1/2 hour of diagnostic time plus $10 rags/oil/grease (shop fees); labor was reasonable; remanufactured part was 2.5 times that of a local parts supplier, which included a lifetime warranty. All-in-all, I believe Steed Alignment felt that I had few options available because my Suburban was already at their shop & would not be able to tow it elsewhere for repairs. Although Steed Alignment provides fast & knowledgeable service, I do not appreciate the way Steed takes advantage of the situation & the customer, and I will never patronize Steed Alignment again!
