great food and service these days.
I've been going to Aria for over two years. My husband loves it more than I do and, silly, he does like to order the bibimbap (the chicken or beef teriyaki, kalbi, are superior options). The Korean side dishes mushroom on your table minutes after you order, along with hot tea. We thoroughly enjoy the sides.
New management since summer 2008--brother to brother--which resulted in an all-new, simple but chic decor. Service so far is with a smile and more attentive. Prices went up a $1-2 dollars here and there for lunch but totally worth it (we have not had worhwhile dinners there so far and would not recommend dinners). I prefer ordering Japanese dishes while joining my husband on the Korean side of the restaurant--the Japanese teriyaki and tempura are terrific--together with the Korean sides join the best of both worlds. Mostly Korean clientele, which says a lot.
Overall decent, but excellent tempura. No offense to the customer below, but I don't understand why someone would order bibimbap while eating out at a higher-priced Korean/Japanese restaurant and expect anything spectacular, it's never going to be one of their most commendable dishes. But I agree that I wouldn't suggest this is one of the better Korean restaurants and the service is similar to what you would expect at a cheaper joint in K-town. But I do recommend the Shabu Shabu which is prepared Korean style so at the end they make a tasty porridge of the leftovers. Also, you must try the Tempura. It is probably one of the best tempuras I've ever tried, very light and crispy. I wouldn't say this restaurant is anything to go out of your way for, but if you do end up here it's pretty decent.
Soon to be out of business. When I was at the restraunt, the waitress came to take the order then start to talk loudly to another waitress across the hall. We had to wait until she stopped yelling across the opposit end of the restraunt. The waitress was careless, rude and without courtesy. Even after the meal was served, we still did not get our utensils and water. With this kind of dismal service we were hoping that at least the food would taste ok. But the bibimbap came out dry.(the bibimbap must be pre-made and sitting at the shelf for at least couple of hour) For better food and service the liquor & deli shop next door.
