Editorial Review for Malibu Beach Inn – by Cynthia Chang
In Short
This spacious hotel offers 47 rooms and suites that are steps away from Carbon Beach, aka "Billionaire's Beach," where silky sand and lapping waves accompany a perfect stroll along the waterfront. The resort distinguishes itself from neighboring hotels with their hand-painted bath tiles, private balconies and quaint rooms accented with contemporary artwork by Glenn Ness. Although not all accommodations have an ocean view, little luxuries like 350 thread count sheets and around-the-clock service make up for it. Guests can hit the gym right across the street and then dine at the exclusive Carbon Beach Club restaurant downstairs. Just be warned: A stay here comes with a hefty price tag.
Hits: The recent renovations have resulted in landscaping, architecture and interiors that exude both coziness and panache. Shopaholics and foodies can also stroll less than a mile to a line of boutiques and bistros at the Malibu Country Mart.
Misses: Daily amenities like the gym and internet access are not complimentary, and there's no self parking, only valet service.

This place is incredible. I've stayed twice and haven't been disappointed. They just finished a re-model a little less than a year ago and the whole place looks even better than it did before. The outdoor patio is a great place to get a bottle of wine, watch the waves, and sit around the outdoor fire places. The rooms are really comfortable and always nice. I only wish they would have kept the Jacuzzis that used to be on the balconies of every room. The restaurant downstairs is incredible, and offers great fine dining, although definitely at a price. There is really nothing wrong with this place. The two-star reviewer is actually talking about the Malibu Inn, which is shady and opposite of the pair, but however is completely different from the Malibu Beach Inn.

The malbu beach inn is the nicest hotel in malibu. It is small and private but the view is incredible. It's right on the beach! I slept so well there, not only because my bed was so comfy, but because the ocean is so close the waves lulled me to sleep! My favorite part was the wine tasting. It was affordable and tasty.
Pros: ocean, private jacuzzi tubs, private balcony
Cons: I can't live there!
