What People Are Saying About Space Mountain

The View – Enter Space Mountain and be submerged in '70s analog-synthesizer music and corny imagery that brings to mind a version of "2001: A Space Odyssey." The ride itself, like Thunder Mountain, doesn't measure up to more modern coasters--its best features are its jerkiness, the darkness (which brings an air of unpredictability to the ride) and its sounds (hearing the car cruising over the tracks makes you think that the whole ride might go at any second). Without a doubt, Space Mountain is a classic. – – The Experience – More people know of Space Mountain than any…
Even better than the one at Disney World!

Basically the premise of space mountain: no big drops, just a VERY fast and windy ride down from the top of the ?mountain?? totally in the dark. There is nothing more deliciously scary than riding at breakneck-speed through pitch black and not knowing where you?re heading next. I found the ride to be faster with even more jerky turns than the version Disneyland has, and I totally loved it. Disneyland?s Space Mountain is one of the few times I can say that a ride that had over an hour-long line was totally, 100% worth the wait.
sad, i know....

i've never been on this ride. too scared. but every time i walk past i do the "ric flair strut" and flash the 4 horsemen salute. i know i'm not the only one that's done this, either. that, and i've heard people yell out "wooooooo" after they get off. we wrestling fans are a weird, but loyal bunch.
Space Mountian Review

This is no doubt the most thrilling and exciting ride at Disneyland. However the ride does not go upside down and does not reach the speeds one age 15 and up would like to experience as he/she would on a coaster at Six Flags or Knotts. The problem is all of Disneyland's rides appeal to families and/or children but Not teenagers and young adults. If they made Space Mountain faster and/or added loops or better turns Disneyland would definitely begin capturing people of all age groups, including those teens and young adults that go to Six Flags and Knotts for thrill coasters. There are already more than enough rides for children at Disneyland, thus, it wouldn't hurt to make one ride (Space Mountain) targeted for people age 13 and up as oppose to before when even 8 and 9 year olds could ride this coaster.
- Pros: Darkness, Somewhat fast + fun, Atmosphere is good
- Cons: , Nointense turns/loops
