Facts
September and October have the lightest attendance, but also the shortest operating hours, less live entertainment and a greater chance that rides will be closed for maintenance. June through August are the most crowded, but still bearable if you go on a weekday, with Thursday usually being the slowest day of the week. Lines are typically shorter during the morning hours, but the best way to avoid long waits on popular attractions is by using Fastpass, an automated ticketing system that allows visitors to make an appointment for a ride.
The Appeal
Most character sightings occur in Toontown. Mickey is usually in his movie barn, and Minnie hangs out in her house. Goofy, Pluto, Donald, and Chip and Dale stroll through the area throughout the day. Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Belle tell stories near Sleeping Beauty Castle in Fantasyland. Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore linger at their thoughtful spot in Critter Country.

If you have a hopper ticket, or just a regular ticket for Disney California Adventure, go to the Animation section in the hollywood lot. Everytime I've been there, i'v always seen a princess there, from Celle, to Cinderella, and even Snow White.

Yes, it's crowded, & you can spend tons of $$, but there is a secret to it. Buy the annual pass. It seems like it's only for fanatics, but its cheaper and less stressful in the long run, especially if you have kids. With a pass, you can go any time, & won't have to be on your feet all day. The evenings aren't so crowded. Most of the little ones have gone home. One good tip is to take the kids to Mc Donalds outside Disneyland then take them into the park, give them $5-$10 each to buy a little trinket. The whole thing will be a lot cheaper, & just as fun for the kids. For adults that like a sort of getaway, go & have a nice dinner & dancing after dark. They offer great swing & ballroom dances that can top off any romantic evening.
Pros: w/pass less walking, go anytime w/pass, cheaper
