The Scene
The factory, located in the park's Pacific Wharf area, gives guests a crash course in the multistep process of tortilla making, from when the batter is mixed to when those heavenly disks pop out of the oven. The guests finish the education-focused tour by gathering around the demonstration chefs like packs of hungry children.
The Food
You've chowed on them thousands of times--piled them high with carne asada, chicken, sour cream, lettuce, hot sauce and shredded cheddar. But much like the mystical content of hot dogs, have you ever wondered exactly what goes into the tortillas you're eating? Well, wonder no more: The Mission Tortilla Factory at Disney's California Adventure will take the mystery out of your taco.

This isn't as much a tortillia factory as it is 2 tortillia machines on display. Having said that it is still worth the visit. You start with a short video (3 minutes or so) which explains the history of the tortillia. Unlike many factory videos, it is funny and does not consitantly promote the company. When the video is over you go inside to view some holograms in windows (you can skip these), before proceeding into the "factory." Inside you'll see corn and/or flour tortillias being made on some pretty cool high tech machines. At the end of the line you are rewarded with a fresh warm tortillia. If you are lucky, they may even give you a small bag of the tortillas to take with you. There is a demonstration area where people make some pretty creative foods with tortillas and share some recipes. Well worth the stop.
