Editorial Review for Beauty Bar – by Lina Ung

In Short
Double doors lead a steady stream of club-goers inside and onto the checkered dance floor of this 1960s beauty parlor, where henna tattoos and manicures are the only pampering services offered. Beers and cocktails flow at the bar while a friendly and unpretentious crowd lounges around hair dryer chairs, antique salon mirrors, a photo booth, jukebox and plastic-covered sofa. Resident DJs enter at 10pm and play '80s hits, rock-and-roll and pop grooves the rest of the night for a vibe that's gritty, yet accessible and cute.

When to Go

Head over between 6pm and11pm, Thursday through Saturday, for Martini Manicures--$10 martinis include your choice of a manicure or henna tattoo.

Fun Fact

You can hit up Beauty Bars when you're on the road, too. There are six locations across the country, but the decor at each one is very different.

I usually like to come here on Friday and Saturday nights. It can be a h1t or miss (music wise), but most of the time it's amazing. This place offers a variety of genres for your dancing and listening pleasure! The crowd is alright at times, but on occasion you'll get that encounter with the crazy drunk guy or girl of the night. You wait a while of course just to get some service at the bar. The only con I can find is that it's tinyyyy. ESPECIALLY on busy nights it's not always the most comfy spot. So ladies think twice about those open toe shoes since you're most likely to get stepped on and get a cute lil bruise on your foot the next day. Least that's what happened to my friend, haha!

Pros: Music

Cons: Small place

Cool place for starting a Hollywood night. Good place for hosting an event. Small but cool. Parking structure right across the street is a benefit.

Pros: good for hosting event

Cons: small
